With technology literally taking over the world, it becomes much easier to move information from point A to point B without many people actually moving. Computer positions make up a huge number of jobs, and unfortunately working behind a computer isn’t the healthiest of careers. However, there are things you can do to prevent falling down the black hole of the feared office body. Here are somethings to keep in mind.
- Make time for the gym
If you work in an office with an onsite gym you already have the advantage. Show up early or stay a little late and get active. If you don’t work in a building with a gym, you can find a great membership deal online somewhere, or get a few pieces of equipment to keep in your office to use when you have a few free minutes. Every little action counts, so do everything you can to get active when you have the chance.
- Eat right
Working in an office will often tempt you to go out and gorge yourself on fast-food burgers or tacos everyday. That food is the worst for you. Try to pack a healthy lunch, or if you must, find healthy options near your work. Not only will taking lunch help your health, it will also help your bank account, so prepacked meals from home are always your best option.
- Go the extra mile
If you are going to put in the hard work to go to the gym and eat right, you might as well go the distance. There are salons for your hair or makeup, and if you really want to stand out consider a tanning treatment! Don’t go overboard with the sessions, but a few can help keep you look like you’ve been on the beach and not behind a desk everyday! You can typically find great deals if you do a little searching around online.
Don’t fall victim to the office bod and be conscious of your lifestyle. It only take a little dedication, but with the right work it’s totally achievable to stay fit and work hard at the office!
