When to Go?
The height of the season is June-August. If you want to avoid big crowds, come to Ibiza in the second part of September or in June. Never forget to hire car in Ibiza. You may order it in the Internet to start driving from the airport. It is not a problem to choose a car and insurance. Be careful, to pay for absolute car insurance. And never forget to find good parking place. It is difficult to find free parking in the hot season.
Where to Sun Yourself?
There are many interesting beaches in Ibiza. They are about 8-10. All of them are charming and unique. First of all, drive your car to Cala Conta that is 20 minutes driving from the capital. Oh, it is not for having good rest, but make selfie during sunset: amazing rocks, bays, picturesque islands around.
ES CAVALLET
This territory is situated 10 minutes driving from the most popular beach Las Salinas. To feel comfortable, it is needed to walk for 20 minutes and leave your transport behind in the parking place. Nevertheless, this is your chance to find beautiful lonely place with no people around. There are two worthy restaurants on the beginning of your way: El Chiringuito (fashionable, 50 EUR) and traditional La Escolliera with the beach view and dunes (40 EUR). Be careful, the hot time 2-5 p.m. is impossible to find parking place.
AGUAS BLANCAS
This is a real hippie beach that is half an hour driving from the city, to the South-East of the island. You can be naked to feel the atmosphere of old Ibiza. The nature here differs from the nature in the South part of the island: rocky landscape, cold water, big waves. There are no restaurants in this part of the beach.
CALA VADELLA
This is a family beach in the West part of the island, not far from the cute village San Jose and half an hour driving from the capital. This is the only one place in Ibiza where the beach territory is protected from jellyfish attack. There is time in Ibiza when the West coast of the island is suffering from jellyfish attack.
SA CALETA
This is a small beach not far from the airport with the beautiful view to flying up and down planes. The coast is covered with pebble and sand to be perfect for kids. This is also a popular place for advertising bills. Models look great against the background of rocky mountains and wild nature.
PUNTA GALERA
The stony beach is popular for nudists, sport lovers and creative intellectuals. This is one of the most creative and strange places on an island. It is difficult to find the beach without additional help. It is better to ask for help.
CALA GRACIONETA
This beach is situated not far from the little city San Antonio that is half an hour driving from the capital. You can find a nice restaurant with big terrace and amphitheater. If you have never visited this place before, you should ask for something simple and usual. Never ask for fish or lobster – the food is perfect, but prices are different.
Where to Stay?
It is better to stay in hoteles rurales (village hotels) in the North quiet part of the island. The nature is amazing here: pine forests, almond gardens, beauty and silence. There is one minus – it takes about half an hour to get there by car. If you are going to spend time in big company or kids, it is better to hire a villa. The most prestigious region is situated in the South-West part of the island, along the beaches of Sa Caleta, Cala Jondal, Porroig, Es Cubells.
CAN TALAIAS
This is an ancient farmer’s house, situated on the top of a hill in the forest not far from San Carlos village. The sea views are amazing. The house owners are hippies. They made the atmosphere of artistic place: big piano in the middle, breakfast any time at any place. There are 6 light suits with wooden furniture and orange walls, cozy terraces. The best of them is Girasol Suite from the round tower.
CAN CURREU
This is a lux class hotel of the same village San Carlos. There are 17 suits in the hotel. All of them are equipped with wooden furniture, big terraces. The hotel restaurant offers the dishes of Mediterranean cuisine. There is also SPA menu and club for horse lovers.
Where to Dine?
It happens that the best restaurants in Ibiza are beach restaurants. The menu is traditionally the same: fish, lobsters, shrimps. It is important to meet the restaurant owner before meals to book a table beforehand. You know, it is difficult to reserve a table in the prestigious restaurant if you a not close to the restaurant owner.
ES XARCU
This is a small eating establishment that is hidden in Cala Jondal, 100 meters far from the glorious Blue Marlin. The wooden tables are situated in the cozy terrace. The prices are high, but the food is tasty.
SA CALETA
The restaurant is situated next to the beach of the same name. This is the oldest establishment in the island. It works 7 days a week. The owners of the restaurant are father and son. The service is friendly and high class. There is a big garden with sunbeds there.
ES BOLDADO
The restaurant is situated not far from Cala d’Hort. It is located on the top of a hill opening a beautiful view to the mysterious Es Vedra. The terrace goes to the sea. This is a perfect place for rich and serious public from the near about villas.
CANA SOFIA
The restaurant is situated on the beach Cala Vadella. The restaurant owner likes food experiments. Nevertheless, traditional dishes are also tasty. Never miss trying сaldereta de langosta – soup made of lobster and local potato.
